Rice Krispie Scotcheroos
1 cup white granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup smooth peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
Start by lining a 9×9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, combine the white granulated sugar, light corn syrup and smooth peanut butter.
Continue cooking and stirring over medium heat until it just comes to a boil.
Pour this mixture over the Rice Krispie cereal and stir to coat well.
Pour into the prepared baking pan and press down lightly to even out the treats.
In a medium sized microwave safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the butterscotch chips. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave on high another 30 seconds. Stir.
Pour the melted chocolate over the treats and smooth out the top.
Allow to sit for a couple of hours to set up before cutting and serving.
