As soon as you walk through the door of any “Parlor Doughnuts” location the smell is what hits you first, unless of course it is the friendly staff welcoming you in with delightful commentary. On the wall is their mission statement, which is “We are a craft doughnut and coffee shop offering an array of unique bakery items, including our Famous Layered Doughnuts; vegan / gluten friendly, and kept friendly products; artisanal breakfasts; and specialty coffee. Our goal is to efficiently deliver a superior product, at a moderate price, with exceptional service, in a comfortable setting.” 

Parlor Doughnuts was founded by Darrick Hayden, in partnership with Josh Tudela, in February of 2019 and launched in Evansville. The place grew so fast that it blew away everyones expectations. Now they are offering the opportunity to franchise. 

Small handcrafted doughnuts are made at each location on each opening day. What is so unique about their doughnuts is that instead of a yeast doughnut or a cake doughnut that everyone is very well familiar with, they use a croissant based dough which gives their doughnuts that special flaky, layered, buttery taste and texture.

I have had my fair share of these doughnuts and they are some of the best I have ever had! Each doughnut is filled, topped or both with a delightful combination of just about anything you can imagine. My favorite is their cinnamon roll doughnut that is filled with vanilla icing. I also enjoy their French toast donut with the maple glaze and filled with a cinnamon maple icing. Recently I have also learned to love their cookies and cream doughnut which is filled with vanilla icing. Of course, these are all served fresh but request them warmed up and they are out of this World good!

Some of their other flavors are maple bacon, maple pecan, carnival, sandy beach, chocolate chocolate, campfire, peanut butter cup, churro, caramel bliss, bourbon caramel, turtle, turtle cheesecake, coconut cream filled, raspberry jelly filled, blueberry hill, strawberry shortcake, raspberry pistachio, dreamsicle, lemonade, plain Jane, chocolate keto, vanilla keto, maple keto, mini doughnuts and even an offering for dogs called their dog doughnuts. I mean, how delicious do all of those sound and I have not even mentioned their coffees! Drip coffee, iced coffee, cold brew, latte, matcha, hot chocoalte, chai latte, cappuccino, espresso and on and on! 

Their breakfast menu is also out of this World! Acai bowls, avocado toast, bacon breakfast tacos, bacon egg and cheese sandwich and more! And get this. You can order delivery and order online so that makes this place even more delightfully dangerous.
