Yes, you may be wondering why on Earth you are reading a review about Domino’s pizza here in my column and I am going to give you several examples as to why you are. First and foremost, it is a restaurant that is not only local but known throughout the World. Secondly, I am a food writer and not only do I love talking about and writing about food, I feel like I must share some of my favorite places with you, regardless as to if they are small “mom and pop places” or large chains. If I find something that I love and want others to share, you best bet that I am going to either post about it, share it, talk about it, write about it here or all of the above. Thirdly, unless you have been living under a rock lately, you know about the “viral” Domino’s pizza that has since went viral. No? Let me explain. TikTok has food reviewers that sadly are sometimes hired by the company to promote their products and therefore “goes viral” meaning there are millions of hits / shares in hours. There are too, however, regular everyday food reviewers who get on TikTok just to share what they like and that is exactly what happened with this latest Dominos pizza trend.
An everyday TikTok poster, posted his love of what he called the “Philly Cheese Steak” pizza from Dominos. He said it was not on the menu and you would have to special order it. It is a pan pizza with garlic parmesan sauce, extra cheese, beef, bacon, Philly cheesesteak and their cheddar cheese blend. Sounds simple, right? It is, let me be the first to tell you, simply delicious! There is something about the pan pizza and the fluffiness of the crust with the white sauce instead of the tomato sauce and married in flavors with the bacon and the beef. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I wish I would have ordered two because I am sure I could have eaten both.
Dominos has been around for years and always prides themselves on serving only the best and freshest ingredients. Not only do they have delicious pizzas but they also have several varieties of pastas, subs and wings. And of course we can not forget about their delicious breadsticks. I would have to say that out of everything I eat, there has not been a pizza that I did not like or at least would not try. Is pizza my favorite food? Possibly. But picking a favorite food to me, is like picking a favorite child. And I just can’t do that.
