“CHEW THAT!”
Lincoln Square Pancake House
Blaise Doubman
When I use the terms “best pancakes I have ever had in my life”, I hope that those reading would know me well enough by now to be like, “oh my… these must be some serious pancakes!” Well, trust me when I tell you that the pancakes at Lincoln Square Pancake House are the best pancakes I have ever had in my life! Not just “one of…” the best or “rounding out the top 3…” No, these pancakes are so good that I could literally eat them every single day of my entire life!
First though, let me start by saying that there are a few locations of Lincoln Square Pancake House in Indiana and a few of those locations are, Fortville, Greenfield, Indianapolis, Westfield and Zionsville with new locations coming to West Carmel and Fishers coming soon! Visit any location you deserve, whichever is closest to you because all of their food is the same. My favorite location is one of their several locations in Indanapolis but like I said before, you choose your own.
Once you get there, take a look at their two sided menu. Everything is delicious. Fried biscuits with apple butter, cinnamon biscuits with vanilla dipping sauce, breakfast nachos, breakfast tacos, tons of scrambler meals, tons of skillet meals, biscuits and gravy, all types and variations of Benedict’s, lots of egg sandwich options from croissants to bagels to quesadillas and burritos, tons of omelet choices with fillings ranging from turkey and spinach to a western omelet with ham, green peppers, onions and cheese, to a Greek omelet with gyro meat, feta cheese, tomatoes and onion, veggie lovers omelet, meat lovers omelet, a biscuits and gravy omelet and even a section for healthy breakfast options such as old fashion oatmeal, healthy breakfast sandwich, avocado toast and even seasonal favorites, which right now is pumpkin flavored anything and everything imaginable. And that is just the front of the menu.

The back of the menu shows their offerings when it comes to burgers, handhelds, wraps, melts, salads, breakfast platters, waffles, crepes, pancakes and French toast. It is here, on the back of the menu, that I find “my usual”. Right at the top in the center of the menu, under where it says “platters”, I get the pancake platter and with it comes a little sample of everything which I think is just perfect. It comes with two pancakes, although you could also pick waffles or French toast instead, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs and hash browns. The pancakes come topped with their housemate butter which I could literally just eat with a spoon! There are a boatload of toppings you can pick for your pancakes but trust me on this, just get the butter and maple syrup. The pancakes are made fresh and super fresh and hot and the taste, oh my goodness, the taste! They taste like if a pancake and your favorite white birthday cake were somehow merged together with a sprinkling of extra tender deliciousness. Oh, and get your eggs scrambled with cheese. The eggs with the cheese and how they scramble them are literally perfection. So light and fluffy yet dense and packed with flavor. Not at all overcooked.
If you do not feel like pancakes, which who ever does not?, then you may want to know what other types of offerings are on the back menu and those options would be cheeseburgers, salmon BLT, chicken sandwich, tenderloins, chicken salad, burrito, fish and chips, patty melt, pesto grilled cheese, greek salad, harvest salad and taco salad, just to name a few.
For more information on this highly recommended spot, visit them online and also be sure to check out their other concept restaurant called “The Med” on 5614 Washington Street in Indianapolis. If you go for their pancakes, please let them know that Blaise the Baker and “CHEW THAT!” sent you! Take this clipping in and show them too! What will they say?
