The Best Strawberry Shortcake Ever
Blaise Doubman
This is the best Strawberry Shortcake recipe ever! If you are ever going to make one, make this one! If you do not think that you like one, make this one. I have served this to people who say they do not like Strawberry Shortcake, and they have gonecrazy over this. This shortcake is baked like no other and also tastes like no other. This really is a phenomenal dessert.
The secret with this dessert is the sour cream as well as how it is layered and then baked. Be sure to follow the instructions perfectly for this to turn out. You do not want to mix the batter and topping together before baking. This is delicious with freshly cut strawberries that have been tossed in sugar and then chilled. Also top with whipped cream and or ice cream! Wow!
Strawberry Shortcake
1 cup sour cream
1 cup white granulated sugar
2/3 cup Bisquick
2/3 salted butter, soft
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 stick salted butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Start by preheating your oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a 9-inch cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl mix together the sour cream, white granulated sugar, Bisquick, soft salted butter, large eggs and pure vanilla extract until super light and fluffy.
Pour into prepared pan and smooth out the top.
In a separate bowl combine the melted salted butter, packed light brown sugar and pure vanilla extract. Pour this mixture over the top of the batter already in the pan but do not mix it together. Just spread this mixture over the top.
Carefully place into preheated oven for one hour.
After baked, remove and allow to cool before slicing and serving with strawberries and cream.
Ask and Answer: Nan from New Castle wrote to me and wondered if I had a recipe butterscotch pie. I do! Also, a banana butterscotch pie! Both are listed on my website.
I wish I had a slice right now!
