A New and Unexpected Twist on Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been wanting to share this recipe with everyone for months and I kept loosing the courage to do it! Ha! I can only see the comments and emails now about this three ingredient cookie. Yes, there are only three ingredients. Yes, one of the ingredients is water. Yes, one of the ingredients is white bread. I know what you may be thinking. You are thinking that maybe I have lost my mind. I have ran out of recipes. I am jumping the shark. Let me reassure you, no matter what the rumors are about my mental health, I am doing fine and sound in mind and body as I write this. I initially found a version of this recipe on TikTok awhile back and could not for anything get the initial idea about it out of my mind. I remember thinking how insane that sounded and yet I wondered if it would work and if so, how and why would it work? I thought on it for awhile.

Eventually, I got brave enough to try it. All in all, with just two ingredients, three counting the water, it actually was not bad! Next time I made them, I added some vanilla to the “batter” and some salt to the tops of the cookies before baking and they were even better! I really hope that you give this recipe a chance. I think it would be a perfect recipe for kids to help with in the kitchen, or just a night when you or your family needs something “fun” to do. Try this “viral” cookie recipe and let me know what you think!

In a large bowl, place the prepared bread slices. Add in the water.

With clean hands, tear, break and mix the bread and water together until a dough forms.

Add in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix until combine.

Place tablespoon size balls of dough onto the parchment lined baking sheet and bake, in preheated oven, for 23 minutes.

Remove and allow to cool before enjoying.
